Try our FAQ search! What do I need to do to prepare my bike for a visit to the GMD Computrack Network? For a basic measurement, only the body
work needs to be removed. On larger touring type and Harley-Davidson
motorcycles, the saddle bags and luggage will need to be removed along with the
body work and possibly a fender or two. If the chassis needs to be aligned, it
will need to stripped of all the painted parts and the exhaust. All of these
services can be done by our shops for an additional charge. Will Insurance cover the cost of the measurement? Most insurance companies will cover the cost of measurements and corrections.
My dealer said they checked the frame and it's OK. How can I be sure? Despite claims made by some laser sighting tools, they can not identify frame or swing arm damage or front end twists. They can ONLY check wheel alignment. Unless your chassis has been to a G.M.D. Computrack shop and measured you can't be sure it is straight.
Is towing available? Yes, we can pick up and drop off you bike for a nominal fee. Most insurance companies will cover the cost of towing.
Will straightening my bike weaken the frame? No, correcting misalignments will not weaken the frame or swing arm. If the component is bent so badly that an alignment would weaken the part, we will recommend replacement of the part. No G.M.D. Computrack will repair any part that would result in a compromise in structural integrity.
I had my chassis optimized, but now I need to buy new tires. Will this change my "Sweet Numbers"? It may. Depending on the tire diameters you hade when the chassis Optimized, and what you are going to fit now, some ride height changes may be required. It is best to talk with your G.M.D. Computrack Tech about your decision before you buy and they will help you select the best option.
